Since the release of Valorant earlier this year, Riot Games has introduced more and more additional content with each ACT. The latest release of ACT 3 is no exception and features a new Icebox map, an improved battlepass, and a new agent valorant Skye.
While the new map and improved battle pass were released on October 13, the Valorant new character Skye will only be available in two weeks. She will add new abilities and gameplay features not previously seen in Valorant.
Here is a list of new agent Valorant Skye’s abilities:
Trailblazer is one of the most unique abilities that we have seen in Valorant so far. Skye takes control of a Tasmanian tiger, and if she touches an opponent, they instantly lose their ability to aim, move, and even their vision! Opponents stunned by this ability will be easy to finish off.
Guiding Light is Skye’s signature ability that releases a hawk that blinds when activated. If an enemy is caught by the flash, the hawk will play a hit-confirm sound. It is similar to Jett’s Smokes or Phoenix’s Curveball. But it’s unlike Curveball, the hawk is vulnerable to enemy gunshots, and enemies can destroy it before impact. And just like Jett’s Smokes or Phoenix’s Wall, you can use your mouse to bend your hawk flashes around corners. Which is really handy in battle.
The Valorant new character is equipped with a healing trinket. It can heal allies in Skye’s range and line of sight. This ability can be reused until her healing pool is depleted. It’s important to keep in mind that Skye can’t heal herself.
Ultimate ability: Seekers
Skye has another powerful ability called Seekers. It can force enemies to change their positions frequently as she can reveal enemy players’ locations. The Valorant new character equips a seeker trinket that, once fired, sends out three seekers to track down the three closest enemies, nearsighting those who are caught.
Skye’s ability kit seems to be packed with useful tricks that can help players dominate rounds. However, despite all her powers, she isn’t immortal and neither are her abilities as players can shoot them down. Apart from the Regrowth ability that heals teammates, players can shoot down all of her abilities before they reach the desired target.
Will Skye’s abilities be exploited?
It is important to remember that Skye’s abilities are not unique as agents like Sova, Phoenix, Raze, and Sage. They already have similar abilities. Nevertheless, there is a strong belief that she is overpowered. And over time Riot will have to nerf her just like they did with Sage.
