Valorant global statistics show that every map in the game favors the defense

Most games that have two teams playing defense vs offense interchangeably usually have maps that favor one side in some way. Yet if you look at Valorant global statistics, you will see that defensive players score kills more frequently and win more rounds than attackers. So we’ll see that Valorant global statistics show that every map in the game favors the defense

If you’ve ever played Valorant, you’ll probably have noticed that playing defense is usually easier. The defense map stat confirms that gamers who are playing as Defenders have a better Kill-to-Death ratio, and defensive rounds mostly outperform offensive rounds by a large margin.

Let’s look at the statistics for both sides for each Valorant map:

Ascent

Defenders

As you can see from the numbers, Defenders clearly have the advantage. Most first-person shooters balance out their maps to make the game fairer and more competitive, but weirdly with Valorant, this isn’t exactly the case. Riot Games has a history of balancing out their games if any metric is too far outside 50%, and considering that the game was released just a few months ago, it’s safe to say that things may change with future game updates.

Agents’ special abilities could explain the statistics

Agents' special abilities could explain the statistics

Sova and Cypher’s combined abilities can reveal opponents’ locations and slow down the enemy recharge round, thus giving you the advantage in both defense vs offense. When playing other tactical games like Counter-Strike, players risk their lives to acquire information about an enemy’s location, while Valorant players get this information for free.

These are just two of the many agents with special abilities that are available in the game, and it’s up to you to figure out how to use them to your advantage to win rounds.
